Why Not Traditional Beadlock Wheels?
Traditional beadlock wheels, while excellent for off-road use, are not suitable for on-road use. They require frequent maintenance, special tools, and parts, and are not DOT compliant. Lower tire pressure off-road improves traction but increases the risk of tire bead separation, which beadlock wheels counteract by clamping the tire bead.
What is InnerLock Technology?
InnerLock technology is a novel approach to tire bead retention. It uses O-ring sealed, hardened alloy pins inserted radially on the tire's inner side, creating a barrier that prevents tire unseating during extreme conditions. This technology combines light weight, strength, maintenance-free convenience, and DOT compliance for a blend of on-road safety and off-road performance.
Used. Abused. Lab Approved:
In its development phase, ICON engineers rigorously tested the Rebound PRO in challenging environments. Following extensive real-world testing, the wheel underwent lab testing, including the modified FMVSS No.139 Tire Bead Unseat Resistance Test at 10 psi. The Rebound PRO exceeded machine limits (over 7600lbs load) without de-beading the tire, proving the effectiveness of the InnerLock technology.
