What is Proposition 65?
Proposition 65, officially known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is a California law that aims to protect the state's residents from chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm, and to inform citizens about exposures to such chemicals.
Does This Affect All Products?
No, it does not. The Proposition 65 warning does not mean that our products will necessarily cause cancer or reproductive harm. Proposition 65 is a "right to know" law that requires the presence of any of over 900 listed chemicals to be disclosed. Only a few of our products fall under this requirement due to the presence of these chemicals at trace levels.
Why Is This Warning Required?
Proposition 65 sets very strict standards. For many of the listed chemicals, the required level of exposure is significantly lower than levels at which actual health risks are expected. However, out of an abundance of caution and in compliance with California law, we have opted to provide this warning.
