From its experience starting with its industry-leading one-piece S55 Charge Cooler, to then developing the world's first Charge-Air Cooling System for the F1X M5/M6, CSF applied several different features exclusive to its manufacturing technologies to create its newest and most innovative Charge-Air Cooling System for the F9X M5 and M8.
The Charge-Air-Coolers come in an OEM+ Crinkle Black Finish. In addition, custom finishes are available at an additional cost for those looking for a more unique engine bay look.

Design & Engineering
CSF is the world leader in BMW air-to-water charge-air cooling technology. From its experience starting with its industry-leading one-piece S55 Charge Cooler, to then developing the world's first Charge-Air Cooling System for the F1X M5/M6, CSF applied several different features exclusive to its manufacturing technologies to create its newest and most innovative Charge-Air Cooling System for the F9X M5 and M8.
This new design truly tested the engineering and manufacturing capabilities of CSF, with over one year of development and several prototype revisions to achieve absolutely perfect fitment into an engine bay with only a few millimeters to spare – a true plug-and-play system requiring no modifications to install.
OEM vs CSF
The weak OEM crimped-on plastic end tanks have been replaced with CSF's larger, CFD analyzed, 100% TIG-welded cast end tanks. The top side of CSF's Charge-Air Cooling System now features air inlet tanks with seamless integrated charge pipes versus the OEM plastic charge pipes that are glued to the intercoolers.
Like the previous F1X model, CSF has again integrated dual 1/8 NPT ports into the outlet side air tanks for quick and easy installation of aftermarket methanol injection systems. The side-specific positioning of these ports have been designed and strategically placed directly into the post-intercooled charge-air stream for maximum performance.

Real World Testing
These coolers are currently installed on the top 5 world's fastest S63 powered M cars. This includes Mr. Vanos 1200+ HP F90 M5.
Before the public release of these coolers, CSF worked with a BMW shop to install, verify perfect fitment, and conduct performance testing on two of the world's fastest and most powerful F90 M5 Sedans.

Custom Color Options, From the Leader in BMW Cooling Customization
CSF has become the industry leader and innovator of custom finished cooling products. We first started with our most popular BMW S55 Charge-Air Cooler, then expanded to other BMW models such as our F1X M5/M6 and best selling B58 Charge-Air Cooler systems. Most of the same custom finishes can be ordered on CSF #8178.

- CSF is not responsible for warranties for Coolers coated by anyone other than CSF

Thermal Dispersion Black
CSF's most popular custom finish, Thermal Black Heat Dispersion Cerakote is now available as a custom finish option.
Thermal Dispersant/Dispersion Coatings are submicron coatings with extremely high thermal conductivity. Due to their density and chemical composition they offer highly efficient heat transfer. In the case of a coated heat exchanger like an intercooler, the higher thermal conductivity of the coating helps draw heat to the surface of the part.

Custom Finishes
CSF offers the widest variety of custom finishes in the industry. From color matched powder coating to high tech Thermal Dispersion Coatings, the options are limitless.
Powder Coating: Powder coating is available in almost any color imaginable with finish options ranging from full gloss to crinkle texture. You can even opt for accent colors, different colors for certain components like fuel rails (when applicable).
DLC (Diamond Like Coating): DLC Coating stands for diamond-like carbon coating, and is a nanocomposite coating that has unique properties of natural diamond low friction, high hardness, and high corrosion resistance. These coatings are the most expensive available, but can offer some very unique finish options that will provide the greatest durability.
